ACPAA's Mission:
The mission of the Alamo City Performing Arts Association (ACPAA) is to fill the greater San Antonio community with access to the performing arts. Through educational initiatives, presentation of work, and inclusive artistic practices, ACPAA aims to create access to the performing arts for the community members of the greater San Antonio area.

ACPAA's Vision:

Alamo City Performing Arts Association (ACPAA) is dedicated to inclusive education in the performing arts; dance, theater and music. ACPAA aims to instill and perpetuate a genuine appreciation of the performing arts in our community through educational and performance opportunities alongside professional artist. This initiative is achieved through the presentation of resident companies, the
Alamo City Dance Company and Symphony Viva.
 ACPAA's History:
The Alamo City Performing Arts is a Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) Organization that provides support to our ballet company Alamo City Dance Company and Symphony Viva.
Supporting the performing arts since 1992, we have brought in professional artist from The Joffrey Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, Ballet San Antonio, and other renowned ballet companies from across the nation to perform with our student company members.

The Alamo City Dance Company (ACDC) was founded in 1991 by Nancy Grossenbacher and Scott Conway in residence at the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts (SASPA).
The Alamo City Dance Company is a semi-professional company comprised of student company members. ACPAA has produced over 60 ballets for the Alamo City Dance Company; ACDC performs ballet classics, contemporary jazz works, classical modern, and even explores the realms of tap and ethnic dance. ACDC is truly an all-encompassing dance company and its dancers are a field of electricity and a power house of dance.

In 2018 Symphony Viva merged with Alamo City Performing Arts to become a multi-disincline Arts organization. Symphony Viva maintains a full concert schedule, while simultaneously providing live music for ACDC productions. Symphony Viva’s members consist of professional to collegiate musicians. It is our hopes to build Symphony Viva into a regional orchestra, so that local musicians have more opportunities in Bexar County.

ACPAA believes that to effectively instill an appreciation of the arts, it is imperative to mentor and perform for those who wouldn’t normally be able to enjoy the arts. In 2018, ACPAA partnered with Eva's Heroes to produce a Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker, that included individuals with intellectual special needs.
We are seeking funding and support to expand our Sensory-Friendly Dance Program to include year round classes.

ACPAA is proud to donate over $100,000 annually in tickets to other non-profits and under served community, such as Boys Town, San Antonio AIDS Foundation, Girl Scouts, and St, PJ’s Children’s, home to name a few. It is our hope that through these donations, individuals that may not otherwise be able to attend a live theater production will be able to experience the magic of the performing arts.

Please consider supporting us through our membership, donation, or become a patron.  All of which will allow us to helps us produce and perform quality productions!
