Scott M. Conway School Director (Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Scottish Highland)He received most of his training at the California Ballet School, later becoming a company member of the California Ballet Company dancing in many classics. He also trained at United States International University where he received a BFA in musical theatre and directing. Mr. Conway was trained by Madame Margarite Ellicott, Maxine Mahon, Charles Bennett, John Hart OBE, Ann Howard, Erling Sunde, Elizabeth Sutorius, Roland Dupree, Joe Tremaine, George Koller and Steve Condos. His career spands everything from classical ballet to union musical theatre, industutrials and conventions. Mr. Conway has taught in Brazil, Mexico, many part of the U.S. and in the orient. Mr. Conway has been fortunate to have performed with Edward Villella, Patricia McBride, Carol Lawrence, Kay Ballard, Dawn Wells and the New York City Rockettes in addition to performing in many musicals across the country and several tours around the globe. After choreographing shows at Walt Disney World, Mr. Conway moved to San Antonio to open Sea World of Texas and later opened Fiesta Texas as part of the original creative staff winning most popular theme park show in America as the original choreographer for Rockin’ At Rockville High. Mr. Conway has judged for almost every national dance competition in the United States and he has choreographed for many companies in the U.S., taught master classes in the orient, South America and Mexico. In addition, Mr. Conway has twice won the Globe award for best choreography in San Antonio. Mr. Conway is co-founder and artistic director for the Alamo City Dance Company which he has successfully choreographed or produced productions such as The Nutcracker , A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Giselle Act II, Swan Lake Act II, Les Sylphides, Rodeo, Pas de Quatre’, The Ice Skaters, and two original productions Lepidoptera and A Clockwatchers Paradox. Mr. Conway has also been school director for the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts for the past twenty seven years.
