Mission Statement

Alamo City Arts is dedicated to inclusive education in the art of dance, theater and music; in order to instill and perpetuate genuine appreciation of performing arts in our community through education and performances.

 
Vision Statements

Alamo City Arts Academy
trains aspiring young and professional artists through a multitude of dance disciplines with a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Alamo City Dance Company provides professional performance opportunities in a variety of dance disciplines.  Alamo City Dance Company collaborates with innovative, renowned instructors and choreographers from around the world to create the highest quality performances and production experiences.
 
Alamo City Symphony Viva strives to fulfill a multifaceted mission through high-quality performances of orchestral and ballet masterworks, educational initiatives, and community partnerships throughout San Antonio and Bexar County. Through music-making and collaborations, Viva is committed to providing meaningful and diverse musical experiences for its audiences and upholding the rich legacy of classical music.
 
Heart of Texas Concert Band believes that music is imperative to the diverse culture and community of Bexar county.  Through sharing the gift of HTxCB band’s music, ennobling and entertaining our patrons, enriching not only our patron’s lives, but our musicians’ lives as well.  It is our initiative that we help unite our community through quality musical productions.
 
Memory Lane Dance Band is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of dance band music of the Glenn Miller era.  The band brings to life the music from the Great American Songbook through its community performances.
 
Scottish Rite Theatre is a historic venue that engages, entertains, and inspires our culturally rich and diverse community by presenting production from local and touring performers.

 
Theory of Impact

We accomplish our mission through the many facets of our organization.  Alamo City Arts Academy, Alamo City Dance Company, Alamo City Symphony Viva, Heart of Texas Concert Band, Memory Lane Dance Band, and Scottish Rite Theatre.  Through education and entertainment, we are able to create a sustainable arts community for our patron and performers.

 
Values

Community
Community is built through a common goal or common characteristic; the arts can be used as a way to bring diverse population together, engendering a powerful, temporary moment of unity through our shared love of the arts.
 
Education
Arts education creates a mindset of discipline, creative thinking, empathy, and social connectivity that will be carried on throughout their lives.  Such important lifelong lessons should be accessible to those who desire the experience, no matter their position in life.
 
Collaboration
Arts is about sharing, not only sharing our final product to our patrons, but it is about sharing the creative process with other arts organization and collaborating with them in productions.  It makes a richer experience for our patrons and performers.
 
Creativity
Through encounters with the performing arts whether engaging in the creative process or watching the performance as a spectator, our works as a spectator, our works aims to inspire creativity in the mundane.
 
Excellence
We strive to always produce quality productions that will inspire a positive, inclusive, and creative culture in our community.
