Join us for an unforgettable two-week Summer Intensive with Master Instructors Sasha Krukova and Nurlan Kinverbayev! This comprehensive program is designed to elevate your technique, expand your artistry, and challenge you to reach new heights as a dancer.

Monday-Friday, June 1st - 12th, 2026
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM daily
located at Alamo City Arts Academy

Culminating Showcase: Friends and family are invited to celebrate students' progress at our end-of-intensive showcase!
 Price: $400
**please note that once the Intensive has started there are no refunds. If a dancer is unable to complete the training due to documented illness or injury a credit may be issued at the directors discretion.**  

Training & Curriculum


Students will receive intensive training in the renowned Vaganova method alongside specialized classes designed to strengthen technique and performance quality:
  • Vaganova Technique – Classical ballet training from the Russian tradition
  • Progressive Ballet Technique – Innovative conditioning and injury prevention
  • Leaps and Turns – Master dynamic movement and rotation
  • Variations – Learn classical and contemporary ballet repertoire
  • Character Class – Explore theatrical dance styles and expression

Pre-requisites & Requirements


To ensure all participants can fully benefit from the intensive curriculum and training level, students must meet the following requirements:
  • Minimum age: 10 years old
  • Ballet level: Level 3 (pre-pointe) or equivalent
  • Experience: 3+ years of consistent ballet training
This intensive is designed for dedicated dancers looking to commit to advanced training and take their technique and artistry to the next level. Our comprehensive program with Master Instructors Sasha Krukova and Nurlan Kinverbayev will challenge students both technically and artistically.

New for 2026! Due to high demand, we're excited to offer a Junior Summer Intensive designed specifically for our younger, developing dancers. This program provides age-appropriate intensive training in a supportive environment that builds strong technical foundations.
Program Overview:
  • Limited to 15 students for personalized attention
  • Minimum age: 7 years old
  • Prerequisites: Ballet Level 2 or 2+ years of ballet experience​
The Junior Intensive focuses on building proper technique, artistry, and confidence while fostering a love for serious dance training. Students will work with our professional instructors in a nurturing environment designed to challenge and inspire young dancers.

Sasha Krukova

Aleksandra “Sasha” Krukova is an internationally celebrated principal dancer whose career spans major ballet companies across Europe and the United States. Born in Belarus, Sasha received her formal training at the prestigious Minsk Ballet Academy, founded by Nina Mladinskaya, the first student of Agrippina Vaganova. A certified professional ballet dancer and teacher, she brings more than fifteen years of performance experience and a deep understanding of classical technique. She further expanded her training through a six month internship in Manchester, UK.
Sasha has performed as a principal artist with renowned companies such as the Minsk State Theatre of Opera and Ballet, the Russian National Ballet, and Manassas Ballet Theatre in Virginia. Her extensive repertoire includes many of ballet’s most iconic leading roles, including Odile Odette in Swan Lake, Kitri in Don Quixote, Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle in Giselle, Cinderella in Cinderella, Mary in The Nutcracker, and numerous others. She is especially recognized for her dynamic and fiery interpretation of Kitri, where her strong classical foundation meets bold musicality and expressive storytelling.
In addition to her distinguished performance career, Sasha is a dedicated teacher and choreographer. She has taught at respected ballet schools throughout San Antonio, served as a jury member for Ballet Championship of America, and regularly leads master classes across the United States. Her teaching blends Vaganova precision with an encouraging, artist-focused approach that helps students build both technical excellence and creative confidence.
Sasha is honored to join Alamo City Arts as a Master Instructor and Associate Artistic Director. She looks forward to sharing her artistry, experience, and passion with the dancers of Alamo City Arts Academy and the wider San Antonio community.

Brittany Vahalik

Brittany Vahalik was born and raised in San Antonio Texas. She has over 18 years of dance experience and training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Commercial dance. She attended the North East School of the Arts High school, then went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Modern dance performance. Brittany has been professionally performing for the past five years for multiple cruise lines including Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC, and Azamara Cruise Line. She has been Dance Captain for RWS Global Talent for multiple production casts, where she professionally 
choreographed and installed shows. Brittany is passionate about helping her students develop technique, confidence, and growing their love for dance. She is very excited to be teaching this summer with Alamo Arts Academy.

Nurlan Kinerbayev

Nurlan Kinerbayev is an internationally acclaimed principal dancer whose career includes performances with major ballet companies across Europe, Russia, and the United States. Born in Kazakhstan, Nurlan graduated from the esteemed Almaty Choreographic College named after A. V. Seleznev and later earned his bachelor’s degree from the University Bolashak. He continued his professional development with a six month internship at Oregon Ballet School, strengthening the classical foundation that defines his artistry.
Nurlan has performed as a principal dancer with leading companies including the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Almaty, the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Moscow City Ballet, the Russian National Ballet, and Manassas Ballet Theatre in Virginia. His repertoire features many of ballet’s most iconic roles, including Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty, the Prince in Cinderella, Basilio in Don Quixote, the Prince in The Nutcracker, Don José in Carmen Suite, Albert in Giselle, and numerous additional classical and character roles. A laureate of international ballet competitions, Nurlan is known for his versatility, dramatic depth, and powerful physicality.
Beyond his performance career, Nurlan is a respected teacher, choreographer, and mentor. He has taught at established ballet programs throughout San Antonio, served as a jury member for Ballet Championship of America, and frequently leads master classes across the United States. His teaching combines strong classical technique with an emphasis on musicality, character development, and disciplined storytelling, guiding students toward both technical mastery and artistic growth.

Nurlan is honored to join Alamo City Arts as a Master Instructor and Associate Artistic Director. He looks forward to sharing his extensive experience, passion, and professional insight with the dancers of Alamo City Arts Academy and the broader San Antonio community.
