Fairytale Theater

Dive into the world of fairy tales and folklore in this exciting double bill performance of classic children’s stories of Peter and the Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood.  Little Red Riding Hood is an original score by Eloise Gynn that was originally composed for Northern Ballet that was slated for their 2020 season.  It never made it to stage, and it is our pleasure to be able to bring it to life.

MUSICAL PORTRAITS
 
In our season finale performance, we welcome back pianist Ta Wei Tsai, whose exquisite artistry dazzled the stage last March in Grieg’s Piano Concerto. Tsai joins Viva for a performance of Rachmaninoff’s ravishingly lyrical Piano Concerto No. 2. To conclude the season, Music Director and Conductor Joseph Kneer leads the orchestra in one of the pinnacles of the Romantic canon: Elgar’s Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 36, famously dubbed his Enigma Variations.
