Established in November 2023, Alamo City Ballet Folklorico is an award-winning group dedicated to preserving San Antonio’s Hispanic roots by providing a professional learning environment to develop dancers within the authentic Mexican folklore by celebrating, cultivating, and enriching our heritage through education, cultural exchanges, artistic performances, workshops, competitions and more.

Ready to be part of our award-winning dance group?
We welcome passioned and committed dancers ages 10+ regardless of prior dance experience, just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn and promote Mexican culture through dance! Placement for Alamo City Ballet Folklorico is year round! This is a fantastic opportunity for our talented dancers to take their skills to the next level and be part of an extraordinary performance group. Dancers’ evaluation and placement are at Director’s discretion based on stamina, rhythm, footwork and skirt-work technique, body coordination, attitude, and stage presence.

Guidelines
- Company placement is based on the Director's discretion and based on stamina, rhythm, footwork, skirt work, coordination, professionalism, stage presence and overall technique.
- Dancers are required to enroll in 1-2 folklorico classes with Alamo City Arts Academy to the level assigned by the Director.
- Dancers must abide by the uniform guidelines
- Female Identifying: Black leotard, fitted shirt or tank top, black leggings or bike shorts, black heeled folklorico shoes, folklorico skirt(color of choice)
- Male Identifying: White or Black shirt or tank top, black shorts or joggers, black botines
- Dancers are required to participate in at least 2 competitions throughout the season and attend 3 workshops.
