
David Martinez, co-principal trumpet
David F. Martinez has over four decades of experience as a musician, having performed as a trumpet player in 36 countries around the world, and is a dedicated and passionate musician as well as a Marketing Director and Graphic Designer.
Mr. Martinez has played for numerous events that have been televised worldwide, including Super Bowl XX‘s halftime show (1986), taps at the 65th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France in 2009, and solo performance of the US national anthem at the 2002 Pocono 500 in Pennsylvania. Mr. Martinez has also performed with Up With People, the Altenburg Music Festival Orchestra in Germany, and the Camerata Carolina Orchestra at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
Mr. Martinez is currently serving as president of the board of directors for the San Antonio Wind Symphony and donates much of his time to assist other musical organizations with Marketing and Graphic Design.
Mr. Martinez attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston and studied under the acclaimed jazz trumpeter Jeff Stout (Buddy Rich Big Band). Mr. Martinez also attended UTSA where he studied with Jan Roller, and has also studied with John Carroll, Andrew Gignac, Matthias Höfs (German Brass and Berlin Philharmonic), Anthony Plog, Bert Truax, and Armando Ghitallah.
