Leslie Boerger, principal horn

Leslie Boerger
, and her husband Ron, have been part of Symphony Viva from the beginning, and are grateful for the continued opportunity to play wonderful music with fabulous musicians!  Leslie received her Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Texas, at Austin, in 1984.  She is forever grateful for Wayne Barrington taking a chance on her and admitting her to his studio.

Although now retired, Leslie taught private lessons in the Dallas/Richardson area, as well as the Austin/Pflugerville area.  While living in North Texas she played with The Sherman Symphony, The Metropolitan Winds, and various music ministries.  Upon returning to Austin she continued sharing music in the Austin Symphonic Band, The Balcones Community Orchestra, and various music ministries.  Most recently Leslie and Ron have performed with the World Adult Wind Orchestra Project in Schladming, Austria.

Leslie would like to thank her post-graduate horn teacher, Kate Pritchett, and Jeff Nelsen/ Fearless Performance for transforming her playing, and her parents, Frank and Joan Parker, for their continued support of her musical journey.  Mostly Leslie would like to thank her husband, Ron, for his amazing support.  If it weren’t for him, she never would have ventured into the orchestral world.
